Sakina Pathan
Pathani Embroidery and Applique
In a remote village of Banni region in Kachchh, where Sakina lives and works, language was the first barrier for any collaboration. Through patient observation a creative exchange began, guiding Sakina’s traditional skills towards new expressions. Sakina began experimenting. She took her traditional designs and reimagined them as abstract, geometric shapes with a fresh perspective. The resulting works are symbols of this bond—Kachchhi tradition and contemporary curiosity, brought to life without a shared language. Each piece reflects this exchange. In the end, these works carry a silent message: that craft itself can be a universal language, one that speaks across cultures without words.
