Shibhori and Tie-Dye
Imran and Zuber Khatri’s work brings a sense of vibration and energy to the two dimensional plane, as rigid geometric shapes transform into fluid, dynamic forms. Manipulating colour and form, they generate optical movement, creating an ever- shifting sense of rhythm and energy within the artwork. Drawing on their mastery of traditional shibhori and tie-dye along with local colour dabbing techniques, Imran and Zuber developed an autonomous aesthetic that blends modern art with ancient craft practices in a unique and striking way.
