Ramesh Marwada
Kharad Weaving
Ramesh Marwada’s Kharad panels turn flat surfaces into vibrant journeys, moving from floating shapes to bold abstractions. Crafted with special loom techniques, these century-lasting rugs are woven from local sheep, goat, and camel hair—roots that run deep in Kachchh’s land and culture. Faced with the near extinction of Kharad weaving, Ramesh has taken a giant leap from his remote village of Kuran. The compositions weave together history and innovation, with motifs that range from botanical to ornamental to fractal, creating a lively dialogue of colour and form.
