This large 20th-century wooden Ganesha from Karnataka is a rare depiction of the deity in a standing form. He stands atop a fully bloomed lotus and wears a peaked crown adorned with a crescent moon at the top. Ganesha is depicted with four hands, holding a noose, a broken tusk, a modak (sweetmeat), and a lotus. His trunk extends toward the modak in his left hand, symbolizing his love for sweets. With an elaborate crown and a calm, serene expression, this piece exudes a sense of tranquility. It shows some wear and tear due to age, adding to its character and historical significance.
