The temperate climate of Central India promotes the harvest of wheat as, the vast land filled with this food crop as far as the eye goes, served as the visual inspiration for the border. The Gehu (wheat) border, derived from the seed of wheat crop, abstracted to a geometric gehu phool (wheat flower). The warp heavy gehu highlighted by the base heavy finer tessellated geometric pattern. This unique border has a play of foreground and background that accentuates its beauty even more. This fine cotton saree in shades of Indigo and grass drapes effortlessly like the waves of river Narmada. The thinning and thickening stripes in hues of the water with the inkling of zari shining through brings out the movement in the saree. The hard work and the precious number of hours taken to dent the warp yarns to bring out the beauty of flowing water, comes with experience and love for the craft the bunkar carries. The contrast of land crop as stable geometric border, with flowy water inspired body denting brings out the beauty in differences of this graceful saree.
