Flowers of Surangi blossoms during the Vasant Rutu in Konkan region.. Few villages are engaged in making the gajaras, specifically known as ‘Valesar’ from the Surangi flowers in that period.
All the activities, including climbing and plucking the flowers are done by local women only.
