Another one of the earliest border designs, since the early 1700s, that still is a marker of Maheswari, the intricate Sadabahar Bugadi border. Visual inspirations of this can be found on the carving on the fort and the temples around the ghat. This border is a combination border of the celebrated linear borders clubbed together. These borders were traditionally done in sillk with multiple colored yarns- to gel well with the sillk threads in garbh reshmi sarees.

The traditional Grabh Reshami - 80s fine cotton blended with mulberry silk here in smaller and bigger checks- the Ganji Ratti denting. This intercrate threading of hundreds of yarns in 3 colors, and the teen peti (using 3 shuttles to weave the weft) honours the craftsmanship of experienced weavers. The fine checks in subtle colors and bigger checks in contrast colour gives it its a dual hued body when draped. The age old weave technique paired with the Sadabahaar Budagi, the evergreen border a combination of “V”, “Narmada”, “Karwat”, “Muthada” as well as the Zari patta, all in heritage colors compliments the saree.
