This is a glimpse of North Karnataka - Surpur Palace (Surpur, Yadgir District, erstwhile Gulbarga District). Here is a traditional singer from there, wearing the local, ‘Bekkin Ugure’, which means, ‘cat’s paw’. It is a multi-coloured checked saree with ikat dots. This saree has been extinct for a long time.
